Located in the northeastern
part of the French department
of Dordogne, in "Green Perigord", the Pays de Lanouaille includes nine towns : Lanouaille
itself, Angoisse, Dussac, Payzac, Saint-Cyr les Champagnes, Saint-Sulpice
d'Excideuil, Sarlande, Sarrazac, and Savignac-Lédrier.
This lovely green area
which borders the Natural Regional Park of Périgord-Limousin,
is a favorite holiday location for nature lovers. Its landscape of
rolling hills, pastures and woodlands criss-crossed by three main
rivers, the Isle the Loue and the Auvézère and
numerous streams, is delightful venue for walking, biking or driving
inthe countryside, where you may explore charming villages, with their
typical barns made of stones quarried from limestone or crystalline
bedrocks, and taste delicious regional specialities such as foie gras
and tarts made with local apples.

from family campsites and holiday villages to charming country "gîtes",
friendly "Bed and Breakfast" and "Chambres d'Hôtes",
as well as comfortable and reasonably priced hotels.
